day happened to be shine-d by stars...

Finished watching chinese movie "Money not enough 2". Feel kinda sad for the mother who died. But come to think about this movie, it just reminds me so much of our local lives in Singapore. It is so real and really reflects any ordinary Singaporean here.

Were the 3 brothers bad by pushing their mother around to live with them? The mother had dementia and cant control her urination so it was really tough living and taking care of her. I can understand that. She kept asking the same questions over and over again due to her dementia. This reminds me of my grandma. I think grandma is worst because she has depression as well. So in the end, where is my grandma now? At a nursing home. I strongly objected her being sent to a nursing home but who am I to decide when I belong to the next lower generation of the family? Kinda sad huh? But isn't letting her live at their own homes will be better for her? We can employ her a nurse or maid and share the cost. Sad issue. I am touched when my mum herself also objected sending grandma to nursing home. She even volunteered to take care of grandma but no one trusted her enough to let her do it. Kinda sad. But well, who doesnt judge on earth? Everyone judges people based on their looks, dressing, past doings. But well, one thing is that I am glad that my mum still have a filial heart. She still visits grandma on her own now and then.

This movie really triggers alot of thoughts in me. It started to think about how we always complain or mind about dad's smoking and smell and etc in the house. Thoughts of wanting to let him stay on his own came up. Reason being all those reasons or even prevent conflicts in the house in the future. Kinda sad huh? If we as children can think of letting dad lives alone on his own due to those reasons, who are we to judge those 3 brothers in the movie? Their mother's condition is much worst. And if that really happens to our parents, will we choose to do that as well? Hopefully not. But sometimes alot of things are not within our control especially if you are married. You are no longer alone and can make decision on your own. You make decision together with your spouse. If your spouse wants that, what would you choose? Parents and spouse, who would you choose? Tough decision right? Very tough. This is life. Face it....
