day happened to be shine-d by stars...
Was reading one of my favourite ex Media Corp actress, Jessica's website and knew that she is doing volunteer work in Cambodia. Read about how those poor kids will pick up the left over mineral water in the mineral water bottles from the dustbin to drink left a deep thought in my mind. Whenever we go for tour, we will usually finish drinking all the water before throwing away, wanting to be thrifty and save water. But never once I ever think that someone might pick up the thrown water bottle from the dustbin to drink. So is it better for us to leave some water behind when we throw them away when we are in third world country? What do you think?
I was watching a documentary show on OKTO 2 nights ago and they were talking about buying and selling of human organs from third world countries. What is your opinion of that? I think there are pros and cons of this. The government needs to educate the poor people on the side effects or consequence of having one less kidney for example. Tell them about how will it affect one's health and living in the future. Not only that, they must teach them how to make full use of the money that they earn from selling their organ. The poor people will not know how to use the money in an effective way. They might just think of buying food to meet their needs now. I think they should be taught of using that sum of money to buy something that will help them to earn money so that their future needs will be met in the future. There was a good successful example shown on the programme. That man bought a taxi using that money and he is able to earn a living to support his family.
After reading and watching about all these, it suddenly awake the long asleep dream of mine which seemed to be hidden well inside. I wanted to be a volunteer to go and help those poor people around the world. Meeting their needs and sharing God's word to them. When will I have that chance to do it. With God, all things are possible. I know that if that is God's will in my life, He will bring it to pass in His time. I just have to follow His path. I have also slowly forgotten that God once spoke to me to go to Cambodia....
